Leading national pharmacy bodies have agreed to work together to help make sure that community pharmacy is on the agenda during the 2024 UK General Election. Those bodies are as follows.
Community Pharmacy England is the voice of community pharmacy in England, representing community pharmacy businesses of all sizes.
We are responsible for negotiating the NHS Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework (CPCF) under which all community pharmacies operate and work closely with everyone in the community pharmacy sector, including the Local Pharmaceutical Committees (LPCs), to meet our goals and to promote the value of community pharmacy.
The Company Chemists’ Association (CCA) is the trade association for large pharmacy operators in England, Scotland and Wales.
The CCA’s membership includes ASDA, Boots, Morrisons, Pharmacy2U, Rowlands Pharmacy, Superdrug, Tesco and Well, who between them own and operate nearly 5,500 pharmacies, representing nearly half the market.
The National Pharmacy Association (NPA) is the representative voice of independent community pharmacies across the UK and a leading provider of services to the entire sector.
Our aim is to support independent community pharmacies to succeed professionally and commercially for the benefit of their patients. As a not-for-profit organisation we are committed to reinvesting in service provision.
The Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) is the professional membership body for pharmacists and pharmacy.
Our mission is to put pharmacy at the forefront of healthcare. Our vision is to become the world leader in the safe and effective use of medicines.
We promote pharmacy in the media and government lead the way in medicines information, and support pharmacists in their education and development.
